Religion...

What's sad - this doctor did the right thing by not making excuses for his religion... but the commenter Barbara Kay who is called out at the bottom basically makes it sound like he should have ignored his beliefs.

Blazing Cat Fur: My Muslim patients used to be pleasant and religion was not discussed...

Favorite Quotes

Removing a bunch of stuff from FB - slimming it down. I know that this blog is public access, but I still feel like I have more control over the content. So, here are my favorite quotes, formerly residing on my FB profile.

"Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world."
-John 1:29

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."
-Romans 1:16

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. "
-James Madison

"Your opinion, although interesting, is irrelevant."
-Pragmatic Marketing.

"Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine, a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy."
-Ben Franklin

Can we be more selfish?

The American people have sunk to a new low.
Hurricane Katrina Lawsuit

I'm not entirely sure why people expect hospitals to be able to not just predict a large scale natural disaster like Katrina, but to be fully prepared for it. Amazingly selfish. Yes, it is sad that 73 year old Althea died when the hospital could not supply power to the respirator that allowed her to breathe, and my condolences go out to her family. Did the fact that the entire hospital and most of the surrounding area were practically destroyed?

What is our nation becoming?
